Our Partners

We partner with Government bodies, Industry and Universities for a clean energy future.

The pace of transformational change in the energy sector has been incredibly rapid, and many industry sectors are finding the transition challenging. A clearly identifiable need exists for a new generation of electrical power engineers who intrinsically understand the dynamics of this new electricity supply paradigm and are equipped with the skills and training to best facilitate the transition that is currently underway.

The ARC Future Grids Training Centre has been developed to address this need and will provide the industry with a world-class educational capability designed to train a cohort of engineers with the multi-disciplinary skills to facilitate the transition to the electricity supply system of the future.

The Centre provides an opportunity for industry partners to proactively contribute to the training of a cohort of highly skilled individuals and in turn, the benefits for industry partners include:

  • The ability to assign a research topic to a PhD student or a Research Fellow and to provide direct guidance through the appointment of an industry partner investigator. The student will also be embedded with the industry partner for at least one year of PhD candidature which may be split up over the three years that the student is undertaking training.

  • An opportunity for the recruitment of highly skilled individuals who are familiar with industry operations at the end of their candidature.

  • The ability to leverage institutional research and development funding to facilitate a much larger critical mass of capability in a central location.

  • Access to the pool of research and technical materials being developed by the Training Centre. This knowledge will represent the cutting edge in the discipline.

  • The opportunity to participate as a member of the ITRP technical meeting, bring industry problems and technical issues to the Universities, and develop solutions, tools, or methodologies/technologies through active industry-university engagement.

  • Complimentary passes to all continuing education training courses (or workshops) that will be developed by the Training Centre.
